Select base metals turn weak on global cues

Select base metals, including copper, fell by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today on weak global trend.
Traders said sentiments turned bearish as copper headed for a second weekly decline in the overseas markets after imports by China, the biggest user of the metal, fell to the lowest since April 2013.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months fell 0.4 per cent to USD 6,972 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) fell by Rs 2 each to Rs 430 and Rs 1,086-1,092 per kg, respectively. Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported were also traded lower by the same margin to Rs 113-119, Rs 109 and Rs 107 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot 113-119, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,086-1,092, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 430, Chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 109, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 159, Aluminium sheet cutting 160, Aluminium wire scrap 162 and Aluminium utensils scrap 159.
