Brass sheet cutting prices surged in an otherwise mute non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockists buying amid good demand from consumer industries.
While, aluminium utensils scrap edged down in a lackluster trade.
Globally, the industrial metal copper moved up slightly but remained near three-month low in early trade as concerns over a possible Greek debt default kept trade cautious and with a public holiday in top metal user China limiting activity.
Brass sheet cutting spurted by Rs 14 per kg to Rs 320 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 306.
However, aluminium utensils scrap eased by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 125 as against Rs 127 previously.
