Transporters said besides busy cargo movements, shortage of trucks in the markets supported the rise in freight rates.
Delhi to Jaipur, Ludhiana, Kanpur and Indore rates rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 14,000, Rs 16,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively.
Rates to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Baroda, Surat and Patna also moved up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 21,000, Rs 26,000, Rs 23,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 24,000, respectively.
