Select copper surges on sustained demand

Select copper, zinc and lead surged at the non-ferrous metal market here today on heavy stockists buying amid sustained demand from industrial users.
Copper armature, copper utensils and copper sheet cutting slipped owing reduced offtake from consumer industries.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and zinc climbed by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 400, Rs 390, Rs 428 and Rs 233 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 395, Rs 385, Rs 423 and Rs 228, respectively.
Lead moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 144 as compared to Rs 142 previously.
Copper armature, copper utensils scrap and copper sheet cutting softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 365, Rs 340 and Rs 360.
