Prices of copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode dropped at the spice market here today due to reduced offtake by stockists and millers against sufficient stocks on the back of higher supplies.
However, black pepper, ginger, copra Rajapur and copra edible prices remained stable in the absence of necessary buying support.
Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode, both fell by Rs 200 per quintal to end at Rs 8,300 and Rs 8,100 as compared to Wednesday's closing level of Rs 8,500 and Rs 8,300, respectively.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
Black pepper (per kg) 660/740 (660/740), ginger bleached (per kg) 245 (245), ginger unbleached (per kg) 265 (265), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,300 (8,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,100 (8,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,500 (16,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,000 (10,000).
