Select edible oils remain down on sluggish demand

Select edible oil remained weak for the second day and prices shed another Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to slackened demand from vanaspati millers.
However, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly kept pressure on select edible oil prices.
Traders said subdued demand from vanaspati millers and retailers against adequate stocks position dragged down select edible oil prices.
In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil eased by Rs 50 to Rs 9,050 per quintal.
Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils also declined by a similar margin to Rs 5,400 and Rs 5,350 per quintal, respectively.
