However, non-edible oils moved in a narrow range in scattered deals from consuming industries and settled at last levels.
Traders said apart from rising demand from vanaspati millers and retailers, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly attributed the rise in select edible oil prices.
In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil advanced by Rs 200 to Rs 11,500 per quintal.
Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oil too finished higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,750 and Rs 6,450 per quintal, respectively.
