However, rice basmati strengthened on increased demand.
Traders said increased supplies from producing regions mainly pulled down wheat prices while increased demand led to rise in rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) remained under pressure on increased arrivals and fell further by Rs 15 to Rs 1,485-1,490 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and shed Rs 5 at Rs 1,500-1,505 per 90 kg.
Other bold grains like, bajra, maize and barley also eased to Rs 1,290-1,295, Rs 1,275-1,280 and Rs 1,300-1,310 from last close of Rs 1,300-1,305, Rs 1,310-1,315 and Rs 1,340-1,350 per quintal respectively.
