Select grains rise on increased demand

Prices of select grains,led by wheat rose by upto Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on increased demand against tight supplies from producing belts.
Traders said increased demand from flour mills and stockists mainly influenced wheat and other grain prices.
They, however, said hike in railway freight rates did not have any immediate impact on prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 1,500-1,510 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and went up to Rs 1,500-1,510 from Rs 1,500-1,505 per 90 kg.
Maida and sooji were also seen in demand and traded higher at Rs 880-895 and Rs 970-970 as compared to previous levels of Rs 830-850 and Rs 930-950 per 50 kg respectively.
Other bold grains like, maize and barley were enquired at higher levels at Rs 1,185-1,190 and Rs 1,300-1,310 against last close of Rs 1180-1190 and Rs 1,290-1,300 per quintal respectively.
