Select pulses extend losses on fall in demand

Select pulses, led by kabuli gram, continued to slide for the second day by plunging upto Rs 400 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on fall in demand against sufficient stocks position.
Traders said besides, fall in demand from retailers, ample stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on kabuli gram and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety suffered the most by losing Rs 400 to Rs 9,000-9,500 per quintal.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality followed suit and dropped by Rs 300 each to Rs 5,200-5,400,Rs 6,100-6,400 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively.
Arhar and its dal dara variety too drifted lower by Rs 150 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,200 and Rs 6,000-7,800 per quintal respectively.
