Select pulses remain weak on fall in demand

Select pulses led by gram and arhar went down by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on the back of easing demand from retailers.
Traders said fall in demand from retailers against adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions kept pressure on gram, arhar and other pulses.
In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality drifted lower by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,050-5,850, Rs 5,650-6,050 and Rs 6,050-6,150 per quintal, respectively.
Arhar and its dal dara variety also declined by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,400 and Rs 5,300-7,100 per quintal, respectively.
Masoor small and bold too shed Rs 50 each to Rs 3,600- 3,800 and Rs 3,650-3,900 per quintal, respectively. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,400 and Rs 4,000-4,500 per quintal, respectively.
