Select pulses rise on retailers' demand

Select pulses, led by urad, rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market on increased demand from retailers.
Traders attributed the rise in urad and other pulses prices to uptick in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,250-5,750 and Rs 5,300-5,400 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 5,400-5,900 and Rs 5,800-6,000 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara variety also moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,800-7,700 per quintal, respectively.
Masoor small and bold too edged up by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,450-3,550 and Rs 3,500-3,650 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 3,450-3,950 and Rs 3,550-4,050 per quintal, respectively.
