Select pulses slide on low demand, pick up in supply

Select pulses led by urad fell upto Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market owing to the slackened demand from retailers amid an improvement in the supplies.
Traders said easing demand against adequate stocks position following increased arrivals in the market, mainly weighed on select pulses.
Besides, the government's decision to import additional 5,000 tonnes of tur dal to boost domestic availability, kept pressure, they said.
Import of 10,000 tonnes of tur and urad dal is already in the pipeline and the first consignment will reach by September 23.
In the national capital, Urad and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,800-8,700 and Rs 8,900-9,100 per quintal, respectively.
Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 9,000-9,600 and Rs 9,400-9,700 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small and bold were eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,300-6,900 each per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by the same margin to Rs 7,400-7,500 and Rs 7,500-7,600 per quintal.
Moth quited lower at Rs 5,200-5,500 from previous level of Rs 5,300-5,600 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara variety lost Rs 100 each at Rs 9,400-9,600 and Rs 10,900-11,000 per quintal.
In line with overall trend, gram, gramdal local and best quality softened by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,650-5,500, Rs 5,100-5,300 and Rs 5,200-5,500 per quintal, respectively.
