Select pulses slide on sluggish demand, ample stocks

Prices of select pulses fell by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackened demand from retailers.
Traders said besides low demand from retailers, sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts, mainly pulled down select pulses prices.
In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka declined by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,000-5,200 and Rs 5,500-5,700 per quintal, respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,100-6,600 and Rs 6,600-6,800 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold moved down by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,000-4,300 and Rs 4,050-4,400 per quintal. Its dal local and best enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 4,500-5,000 and Rs 4,600-5,100 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal drifted lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,900-7,700 per quintal, respectively.
Moth lost Rs 200 at Rs 3,250-3,650 per quintal. in line with overall trend, urad and its dal chilka drifted lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,300-6,800 and Rs 5,800-5,900 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 5,900-6,400 and Rs 6,300-6,500 per quintal respectively.
