Traders said stockists buying due to pick up in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to rise in urad and other pulses prices.
Urad edged up to Rs 4,400-5,850 from previous level of Rs 4,300-5,600 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were up by Rs 300 each to Rs 5,500-5,600, Rs 5,600- 6,100 and Rs 6,000-6,200 per quintal, respectively.
Gram also moved up by Rs 150 to Rs 5,400-5,700 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,000-6,400 and Rs 6,400-6,500 per quintal.
