Select spices rule steady in muted trade

Select spices including black pepper, ginger, copra rajapur and copra edible Mumbai prices held stable in an otherwise mute spices market here today in absence of any large-scale buying activity.
Meanwhile, copra office Alappuzha and copra office Kozhikode market closed today on account of "Onam".
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 735/805 (735/805), ginger bleached (per kg) 150 (150), ginger unbleached (per kg) 170 (170), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) closed (6,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) closed (6,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 10,300 (10,300), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,400 (7,400).
