Select spices slide on subdued offtake, good supply

Copra office Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode prices extended its fall at the spices market here today due to subdued demand from millers and bulk consumers.
Elsewhere, black pepper declined on poor export enquiries amidst adequate supplies.
Meanwhile, ginger bleached recovered following renewed demand from stockists and exporters.
Copra office Kozhikode and Copra office Alapuzha dropped by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 9,500 and Rs 9,300 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 9,800 and Rs 9,600.
Black pepper eased by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 740/790 as against Rs 750/800 yesterday.
However, ginger bleached climbed by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 335 from Rs 330.
Following are today's closing rates in Rs with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 740/790 (750/800), ginger bleached (per kg) 335 (330), ginger unbleached (per kg) 350 (350), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,500 (9,800), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,300 (9,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 15,500 (15,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 12,500 (12,500).
