With a view to ending the impasse over appointment of Lokayukta in Uttar Pradesh, the three- member selection committee will meet here on September 27 to discuss a new name.
"The meeting is slated for September 27," Leader of the Opposition and senior BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya, who is member of the committee, said.
The other two members are Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, DY Chandrachud.
The government's efforts to appoint justice (retd) Ravindra Singh Yadav as the new Lokayukta had hit a roadblock with the Chief Justice expressing reservations over his name.
With no consensus over his name, Yadav had last week opted out of the race for the key post by sending a letter to the chief minister.
To a question, Maurya said names of judges who have retired after 2011 will be considered for the post.

Earlier, the selection committee meeting slated for September 17 could not take place following engagements of the Chief Justice.
The Chief Justice had suggested that a meeting be called on any non-week day of the High Court.
In his letter to the Chief Minister, Yadav had said, "I am thankful that my name has been considered for the appointment of Lokayukta, Uttar Pradesh. But considering the controversy evolved, I feel it proper to withdraw my name from the fresh exercise...Therefore my name may not be considered for the post of Lokayukta."
The state government and the Governor have not been on the same page on Yadav's nomination and the file recommending his name has moved back and forth nearly half a dozen times between Raj Bhawan and the state government.
