The 24-year-old singer has started a Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at the varsity, reported People magazine.
The news comes in after the "It A'int Me" singer revealed that she was diagnosed with lupus in October 2015.
Talking about her contribution to the awareness and support with respect to the disease, Gomez said in a statement, "I continue to be optimistic about the progress being made in lupus research and am proud to support the promising work at Keck School of Medicine.
