A case has been registered against a self-proclaimed Unani doctor for allegedly killing a patient and setting the body on fire, Cyberabad Police today said.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police said, the patient identified as Nayeemuddin had visited the clinic of the accused Hussain of Old City area complaining of back-pain on Saturday.
"Hussain allegedly gave an injection to the patient, who developed some complications and later died," police said.
Fearing arrest, the accused tried to dump the body and burn it at an isolated area. However, some local people noticed it and informed the police, following which a case was registered against Hussain.
When contacted, T Sudhakar, inspector of police at RGIA said they registered a case under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), and are investigating.
The inspector said the police could not find any certificates validating the accused as a qualified doctor.
