"Last evening, Ravindra Phatak, the Sena corporator in Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), who is also a leading builder, received three calls from a person, who identified himself as Ravi Pujari and said that he was calling from Australia. He demanded Rs 10 crore from Phatak," Assistant Police Inspector (API) P P Kadam from Wagle Estate police station said.
Phatak later registered a complaint with police, who have registered an offence.
Phatak, a former Shiv Sena man, who had defected the party and joined the Congress, has rejoined the Sena and won the last civic elections.
