As the Modi government came under increasing pressure for action against Pakistan, the Sena said the neighbouring country should be taught a lesson.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray yesterday advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop his 'Mann ki Baat' and instead start 'Gun ki Baat' to punish Pakistan for killing two Indian soldiers and mutilating their bodies.
In a stinging editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana' today, the Sena said the sorry state of affairs in the nation can be gauged from the fact that a tiny country like Pakistan is slaying the self-respect of India everyday.
"Do we have the right to chant the slogan 'Jai jawan Jai Kisan' anymore ? Merely condemning the beheading of soldiers in a beastly manner will bring about no change in Pakistan. The new Defence minister (Arun Jaitley) says sacrifice of soldiers will not go waste. But we have to unfortunately tell him that sacrifices are being wasted."

"A win in Uttar Pradesh may be a big win for you. But the manner in which jawans are being killed is a loss of the nation. In the last one year, thousands of soldiers have been martyred even without a war," the Sena said, and asked, "Did people vote for a change in governance to see wreath laying ceremonies of soldiers everyday?"
Separately, the Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut also hit out at the BJP government and that he has heard 'sacrifice won't go in vain' 100 times and 'Pakistan will be given reply' 10,000 times but no answer has been given yet and the sacrifice of jawans is being wasted.
But in reality, after demonetisation, attacks from the Pakistani side and terrorism have increased 100-fold, it claimed.
"Are people, who feel cow slaughter is a sin, fine with killing of soldiers ? The Prime Minister should clarify how many nations stand by India against Pakistan. The seriousness with which the Defence minister and his department works can be gauged by the way Manohar Parrikar made remarks in the past and his return ticket to Goa," the Sena said.
Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and BSF Head Constable Prem Singh were killed by a Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) across the Line of Control(LoC) in Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on May 1 and their bodies found mutilated.
