Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray today unveiled his party's "vision document" which focuses on upgrading infrastructure in Maharashtra and said that manifesto of upcoming Assembly elections will be prepared after taking into consideration the views of common people and party allies.
Addressing party workers simultaneously across 13 cities through video conferencing facility, which was launched at Sena Bhawan, the party headquarters, Uddhav said that all party units across the state would be virtually linked in coming days.
"I ask you to go to people with the party's vision and seek their suggestions to improve upon the draft. The final (poll) manifesto will be prepared after getting views from people and consulting allies," Uddhav said in his address.
Asserting that Congress-NCP government will be dislodged from power in elections, Uddhav said, "..Views and opinions of people of the state would be heard in functioning of new government. Video conferencing facility would be installed in the state government headquarters at Mantralaya (thus) connecting the seat of the government with rural Maharashtra."
Uddhav said that there would be no scope for corruption in "new government where transparency will be in its truest sense and people will not need to come to Mumbai for taking part in Janata durbars."
In an emotive appeal, Uddhav said that he had accepted the challenge of fulfilling the dream of his late father and Sena supremo Bal Thackeray of winning Assembly elections, and sought support of the party cadre in this endeavour.
Unveiling the vision document, the Shiv Sena president said that it focuses on upgradation of infrastructure, health, tourism, employment opportunities, agriculture and industrial development.
"(Development of) a museum on the life and times of Chhatrapati Shivaji, a memorial of late Bal Thackeray and a state-of-art cancer hospital at Nagpur, development of cities like Kolhapur and Amravati as agriculture hubs, Aurangabad as tourism hub, Nagpur as a transport hub, Nashik as a religious hub, and Pune and Solapur as education and textile hubs, will be taken up," Uddhav said.
Uddhav said that party's first national executive meeting would be held soon through video conferencing.
