"We have been working hard for the Ajsu in all the 81 seats, projecting Sudesh Mahto as the chief minister," Pradip Prasad, Ajsu Central Committee member and convener of the party's Hazaribagh constituency, said here.
"But his decision to ally with the BJP has shocked us. He did not even take us into confidence. Therefore 10,000 supporters and members of the party's Hazaribagh unit resigned," Prasad told a press conference.
He said he would file his nomination papers as an independent candidate from Hazaribagh.
