Senior DD official hit by car during morning walk, dies

A Deputy Director of Doordarshan was killed today after being was hit by a speeding car during the morning walk in East Delhi's Anand Vihar area.
The incident took place around 6:30 AM when a car driven by one Manish Tandon (24) hit the 50-year-old Anurag Rastogi from behind, when he had set out for a morning walk.
"The impact was so hard that Rastogi was thrown away while the car crashed into a tree. Tandon also received serious injuries in the accident and is battling for his life in Guru Teg Bahadur hospital. Rastogi's family told us that he was Deputy Director in Doordarshan," said a senior police official.
Tandon had lost control over the car when the incident took place.
Rastogi lived with his family in Vigyan Vihar area, police said.
