Around 500 archers (men and women) from 26 states and 10 units will take part in the three-day meet, Sunil Bhaskaran, Deputy Vice-President (Corporate Services) Tata Steel said here today.
Addressing a press conference, Bhaskaran, flanked by Farzan Heerzee, Chief Guest Relation and Sports and Chief (Sports) Tata Steel, said the championship in the recurve and compound categories will be played at Archery ground of the sports complex.
Appreciating the good show of the archers particularly the cadets of Tata Archery Academy led by top ranked women archer Deepika Kumari at the international arena, Bhaskaran said Tata Steel was committed to provide best facilities for sports.
The private steel major's stake in archery was high as it produced several international fame archers including Deepika Kumari and National coach Purnima Mahato, who had been recognised with Dronacharya award early this year, he said.
