Charudatta Tambe, assistant director of the centre, had allegedly demanded an amount of Rs 2 lakh from the complainant, who works as a peon in department, to grant official favours, said officials.
He was arrested by ACB while allegedly accepting Rs 15,000 as first instalment of the bribe, he said.
The complainant was on leave for treatment after his accident in 2013 and had recently contacted Tambe for rejoining service, the official said.
