Senior Divisional Engineer G S Yadav and two officers Shakeel alias Mohammad Mujamil and Kumar Sanjay were arrested by sleuths of CBI's anti-corruption wing last night, the Central agency said.
Yadav belongs to Indian Railway Service, while Mujamil and Sanjay are serving as Office Superintendents at Nagpur division of Central Railway.
They had demanded the bribe from a railway contractor for clearing his pending bills. The contractor was asked to pay 1 per cent of the total pending bills. He agreed and at the same time lodged a complaint with CBI which arrested the accused from Yadav's bungalow here, it said.
Later, the CBI raided the offices and residential premises of the trio to assess their wealth. They have been booked under relevant section of the Prevention of Corruption Act, the agency said.
