Sepoy cremated in native village

The mortal remains of a sepoy who died last evening in Kupwara Sector of Jamu and Kashmir, were consigned to flames at his native village Tundla today with full military honours.
Health Minister Anil Vij placed a wreath on the body of the sepoy on behalf of state government.
Sepoy Pankaj Kumar's funeral pyre was lit by his younger brother. The Army and district police also paid tribute to the soldier.
Kumar, posted with 165 field regiment, was found unconscious in his barrack at Batpora village in Tangdhar area in the wee hours yesterday, a police officer said.
He said the jawan was taken to a nearby army hospital where he was declared brought dead.
