Pacer Suraj Yadav scalped four wickets to effect a middle-order collapse that saw Madhya Pradesh finish first day's proceedings at 236 for nine against Services in a group B Ranji Trophy match at the Palam Ground.
Madhya Pradesh were cruising along at one stage with scoreboard reading 105 for one -- courtesy 95-run stand for the second wicket between Satyam Choudhary (36) and Naman Ojha (63).
There was a slump after that as MP lost five wickets for an addition of 30 runs as they were left reeling at 135 for six. First it was leggie Pratik Desai who removed Chaudhary caught by Rajat Paliwal.
It was Yadav who first got top scorer Ojha caught and bowled followed by wicket of another in-form player Mohnish Mishra (13) to start the slide. Skipper Devendra Bundela was run out while Udit Birla was caught plumb in-front becoming Yadav's third victim.
Rameez Khan (38) and Jatin Saxena (26) then arrested the slide somewhat with a 52-run stand which ended with Yadav cleaned up Rameez.
Offie Koteswar Rao then quickly removed Saxena and Ankit Sharma as MP were left nine down for 213. Amarjeet Singh (26 batting) and Ishwar Pandey (5 batting) played out the remaining overs.
Brief Scores: MP 1st Innings 236/9 in 90 overs (Naman Ojha 63, Rameez Khan 38, Suraj Yadav 4/61) vs Services.
