Sesame oil prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on lack of buying support.
However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.
Traders said lack of buying support against sufficient stocks position mainly led to the fall in sesame oil prices.
In the national capital, sesame oil remained weak and shed another Rs 100 at Rs 8,100 per quintal.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):
Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.
