"In the Bridge programme, students can look out for interactive sessions with industry experts from across sectors such as aerospace, IT, electronics, telecom, auto, chemical, utilities and consumer durables," Prof Ashok Jhunjhunwala told reporters.
The QEEE programme seeks to take the best learning resources direct to students, enhance the teaching skills of teachers besides facilitating policy changes, he noted.
Students are drawn from colleges across the country and presently 140 colleges have signed up for the programme, which has five learning modules -- live classes, tutorial, virtual labs, bridge programme and massive open online courses.
In Tamil Nadu, out of the 13 colleges enrolled under the programme nearly 50 per cent was from government sector, Jhunjhunwala said in reply to a question.
"The colleges need not pay anything now, ultimately they might have to pay something, we are taking nothing now," he added.
