Of the seven films Srijit Mukherjee's 'Yeti Obhijaan', Anjan Dutt's Byomkesh O Agniban, Dev's 'Cockpit', Anindya Chatterjee's 'Prajapati Biscuit', Raj Chakrabarty's 'Bolo Dugga Maiki', Swapan Saha's 'Sera Bangali' are releasing today.
Mainak Bhowmik's 'Chalachitro Circus' will be releasing on the day of Maha Saptami, the first day of the Puja, next week.
Asked if the audience will be able to watch all the films and whether simultaneous releases will not eat into one another's revenue, Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee told PTI, "each and every film will have its own place."
Actor-MP and producer of 'Cockpit', Dev said, "I wish all the Bengali films would not have aimed at Puja release and timed for other dates, but let me say all the seven films, representing different genres, will have their audience. Ultimately that will help the industry."

"Everyone in this industry wants all the films do well. But I will ask every member of audience to make 'Cockpit' on the top of his wish list and then watch the other films one by one," Dev said.
Asked about his puja release coinciding with other films, Director Mainak said, "my movie is my baby, and I don't want to share my baby's birthday party with that of another baby.
"But what can you do if someone's birthday party is bigger than yours," he said.
