Seven criminals arrested with country made pistol and weapons

Seven criminals were arrested and a country-made pistol, three rounds and other weapons were seized from them, before they could rob a jewellery shop in Ambad, a police official said here today.
An Ambad police station official said that during night patrol duty a police squad found the gang members at a hotel in Ambad.
When the police made enquiries, the gang members tried to flee after which their vehicles were searched. The police found the weapons in the two vehicles used by the gang, the police official said.
The arrested gang members have been identified as Girish Shetty from Nashik, Sunil Kajale from Pimpalgaon, Aniruddha Shinde from Mhasrul, Ganpat Shinde, Sunil Kajale, Roshan Pagare and Rahul Pite, the police official said.

Police also seized 47 mobile phone handsets, which they had stolen from various parts of the district, he said, adding that they were produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody until June 27.
