Seven held for betting on India-Pak match

Seven people were arrested today for allegedly indulging in betting on India-Pakistan World Cup match, in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district.
A sum of Rs 81,325 was recovered from the seven persons, besides seven cell phones through which they were allegedly taking the bettings in Hindupur town of Anantapur, Hindupur I Town Circle Inspector Iduru Basha said.
"Based on a information, police apprehended the seven on charge of placing betting for the India-Pakistan match," he said.
They would be produced before a court tomorrow, the CI said.
