Three persons, including a five-year-old girl, were killed and one injured when their car collided with a lorry near Rayakottah in Krishnagiri district.
R Madhu (40) of Vathimarathahalli village in Dharmapuri district, working at a private firm in Bangalore, had come to his native place to cast his vote, and was returning after voting, accompanied by a relative and his daughter.
The driver was injured and has been hospitalised.
In Coimbatore, a couple, returning after casting their vote in the Lok Sabha elections, were killed when a speeding car knocked down their motorcycle near here, police said.

24-year-old Arjun, a private bus driver, and his 20-year-old wife Aishwarya were returning home after casting their franchise at a booth in Othakalamandapal on the city outskirts when the mishap occurred near Malumichampatti, police said.
In a similar mishap near Salem, a 33-year-old man, returning home after casting his vote, and his nine-year-old son were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a lorry, police said.
His wife and another six-year-old son were injured and admitted to hospital.
