The surrendered rebels, who were allegedly involved in heinous crimes, including murder, wanted to shun the path of violence and lead a normal life.
Expressing their desire to lead a normal life, the Maoists turned themselves in before senior police officials at Narayanpur district headquarters, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told PTI over phone.
He said of the seven rebels, Aaytu Ram (35), Raju (40) and Jalaram (40) were active as heads of 'Janatana Sarkar' (People's Government) squads in Kutul Area Committee of Maoists.
The other surrendered insurgents were identified as Bajaru (45), Piteram (40), Vare (40) and Ramji (42), all belonging to the same committee, he said.

They all were involved in incidents like murder, attempt to murder, cutting roads and damaging government properties, the police officer added.
Describing the move as a good sign in the Naxal hotbedof Abhujmad, the SP said it shows ultras now want to see development in their areas and join the mainstream as they were fed up with Maoist violence.
Moreover, they were impressed with provisions of the state government's surrenderpolicy, under which they will be rehabilitated now, Meena said.
Meanwhile, a Naxal was nabbed by a joint team of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and district force near Fulmeta rivulet under Orchha police station limits of the district. The rebel was identified as Budhram, he added.
