Several passenger trains delayed due to farmers' agitation

A number of passenger trains were today delayed for several hours, owing to an agitation by farmers at Barhiya and Tall stations in Danapur division of East Central Railway.

The trains were detained at different stations of Malda and Asansol divisions of Eastern Railway and in Danapur division of E C Railway, owing to blockade of railway tracks at the two stations, an Eastern Railway officer said.

The agitators blocked tracks at Barhiya from 8.31 am and Tall from 9.55 am.

The agitation at Barhiya was withdrawn at 1.35 pm and Tall at 2.40 pm, he said.
