Several Punjab govt employees found absent from duties

Several government employees, including some senior officers, were today found absent from duty during a surprise inspection of various offices here.
After reaching tehsil welfare office at 9 am, Deputy Commissioner(DC), Hoshiarpur Anindita Mitra found District Welfare Officer Tarsem Masih, Senior Assistant Naresh Pal and one class IV employee absent from duties.
Later, she also visited offices of Manger Scheduled Castes Welfare, Soil Development and Financial Corporation where she found District Manager Malkiat Singh, Assistant District Manager Dilbag Singh found absent.
She found none of the employees present in the office of Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (Banfinco).

"a report against absentees have been forwarded to the Chief Secretary for further action," Mitra said.
