Acting on a complaint by one Vijay Kumar, a Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Arun Shukla caught Arun Kumar Jha while he was allegedly accepting Rs 1.15 lakh bribe at his rented accommodation from Kumar, an official release said.
The SFC district manager had allegedly demanded demanded a bribe of Rs 1.30 lakh from Kumar and settled the deal at Rs 1.15 lakh for release of payment against outstanding bills, it said.
The VIB later raided Jha's residence and recovered Rs 10,27,500 from there, the release said, adding, the search was being simultaneously carried out at the official's residence in Shivpuri locality in the state capital.
The vigilance department has so far laid 38 traps and arrested 40 officials on graft charge this year, the release said.
