The lead actor of the movie, Ashish Bisht, bagged the award in the category of Best Debutante Actor, while Mithoon was recognised for the Best Music Hindi.
"I feel thrilled that an outsider, that I had trained and introduced, wins such a prestigious award. I was so proud to see him perform in front of such a huge audience at Sharjah.
"Mithoon winning the award validates the fact that 'O Saathi' is definitely one of the best songs this year," Onir said in a statement.
Featuring Raveena Tandon, Arpita Chatterjee and Simon Frenay in key roles, the movie released in India on July 14.
