Shah, who is on a 3-day visit to the state, also advised partymen to reach out to the masses with the development projects initiated by the Modi government.
"Amit Shahji told us that instead of complaining of attack against our party workers by TMC, we should put up a counter resistance through a mass movement against their (TMC) misrule. Our party president is well aware of the present political situation in Bengal," West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh told reporters after a four-hour-long closed door meet here that Shah had with state party leaders.
Ghosh said that the party chief told them that the only formula for increasing the BJP's base in Bengal is to build an "active organization".
"He said that an active organization can help the party to grow in the state. There is no other way to increase BJP's base in Bengal," Ghosh said quoting Shah.
