Shah said the steps enhancing the tax share of states from 32 per cent to 42 per cent will help states become financially independent and less dependednt on the Centre for initiating developmental work.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has risen above partisan politics and taken steps for the welfare of the poor and overall progress of the country. The biggest example of this is the NDA govt's decision to accept the recommendations of the 14th Financial Commission," Shah said in a statement.
