Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, BJP leader Amit Shah today said if his party formed the next government at the Centre it would give "due right" to the people of West Bengal.
"If BJP forms the next government at the Centre, it will give Bengal its due right for the development of the state," Shah said.
"We don't believe in alms. We believe in equal rights and equal development. Bengal has moved backward due to the misrule of the Left," he said.
When asked whether the BJP would try to forge an alliance with TMC, its erstwhile ally, BJP leader Siddhianath Singh said that it had to decide on two matters, first being adoption of the development policies of Narendra Modi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He also criticised the Trinamool Congress regime for being "indifferent" to the chit fund business in the state.
"They are giving excuses that the chit fund business thrived during the Left regime. Yes it is true. But why didn't you take any action against them after coming to power. It has to be answered," Singh said.
