An aspirant for the BJP ticket from this assembly segment, Zee group Chairman Subhash Chandra today said that he will work towards ensuring victory of the saffron party candidate from Hisar.
Kamal Gupta is BJP's official candidate from the Hisar constituency.
"We had already decided on August 30 that amongst the two of us, whoever gets the ticket we shall help each other in the election.
Now since the party has given him the ticket I shall help and support him by all means in the election in Hisar," Chandra told reporters here after addressing a meeting of his supporters.
When asked if he was an aspirant from Hisar assembly seat, Chandra said, "I had sought BJP ticket from Hisar for the Vidhan Sabha on the insistence of people of Hisar and I have no grudge if the ticket has been given to Dr Kamal Gupta and we shall support and help him in the election."
BJP had yesterday released its first list of 43 candidates for the Haryana assembly polls, due next month.
The saffron party, which put up a good show in the Lok Sabha polls, winning seven of the eight seats it contested in Haryana, is eyeing to wrest power from the ruling Congress.
Hisar is at present represented in the assembly by Haryana Minister Savitri Jindal, who is the mother of former Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal.
Chandra also said, "I and my father had been volunteers of RSS and that is why I have been supporting BJP candidates in the elections (referring to 2014 Lok Sabha polls also)."
Chandra stated that he would continue coming to Hisar, which happens to be his hometown, for the welfare of people and development of the area.
When some of his supporters insisted that Chandra should contest from Hisar, even if that be as an Independent, the Zee Chairman politely declined and avowed to support the BJP candidate.
Earlier, Chandra had shared stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a rally in Kurukshetra when the latter was campaigning for his party for the Lok Sabha polls.
