"This is being attempted for the first time in the country where singers from your city will show their prowess for the upcoming Bengali film 'Buno Haansh'," Shantanu told PTI over phone about 'India's Most Amazing Voice' contest.
"I had seen from experience that in most of the contests the participants croon numbers popularised by Asha, Kishore, Lata, Md Rafi, in short the numbers already embedded in public memory," the lyricist-melody man said.
"So they can't come out of the influence of the masters and the gayaki," Shantanu, having scored music for 3 Idiots and Munnabhai MBBS said.
The contest, in association with Talenthouse India, can be entered by video-recording the song on mobile after listening to the recorded track voice. "With today's tech savvy and mobile savvy Youth it will be far easier than coming to a studio for audition initially," Moitra said.
