The Tamil Nadu-based company, had recorded net profits at Rs 4.89 crore during corresponding period of last year, Shanthi Gears said in a BSE filing.
For the year ending March 31, 2017, net profits of the company stood at Rs 22.51 crore.
Total income of the company for the April-June 30, 2017 quarter rose to Rs 59.15 crore from Rs 48.91 crore registered during year ago period.
For the year ending March 31, 2017 total income of the company was at Rs 214.55 crore.
During the quarter ending June 30, 2017, the company's order book was at Rs 64 crore taking the current order book size to Rs 125 crore.
The company will continue to invest in technology to enhance its capability to service high precision heavy duty gearboxes, it added.
