Shanu Hinduja meets UN chief in Davos

Shanu S P Hinduja, Chairperson of the Hinduja Foundation USA, has met UN chief Ban Ki-moon here and extended support for empowerment of women and accelerate the achievement of the UN's Millennium Development Goals.
The meeting with Ban follows Hinduja's attendance at the UN General Assembly in September last year when she spoke at a meeting on Disability Inclusion with leaders from over 130 countries present.
This was part of a series of contacts Hinduja, Co-Chairperson of the Hinduja Group's BPO Company Hinduja Global Solutions, has forged with the UN, including discussions with the Secretary General to bring the Foundation closer to the workings of the UN and play a role for India in putting forward proposals for the UN's post-2015 Development Agenda.
Shanu also attended a number of high-level meetings yesterday in the Swiss resort town.
Besides Ban, she met Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau of the Netherlands and leading Broadcaster and journalist Tina Brown.
Shanu, daughter of Srichand P Hinduja, Chairman of the Hinduja Group, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, is a leading member of the family involved in the Group's business and philanthropic activities.
With a solid career in banking, Shanu currently advises the Chairman of the Hinduja Bank while for the Foundation she works tirelessly guiding the Foundation's education, healthcare and other philanthropic activities outside India, primarily in the UK and the US.
