Yadav, who is Rajya Sabha member, adopted the village under "Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana" launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 11 last.
Addressing a function, on the occasion Yadav said he chose the village, about 7 km from district headquarter, as its name appealed to him.
Yadav lamented that even after 68 year of independence many areas remain untouched from development.
He lauded the "Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna" under which every member of Parliament has to adopt one village and usher it into development.
He asked officials and peoples' representatives to work honestly so that the village earns the award of adarsh gram (model village).
