Loktantrik Janata Dal, an outfit floated by supporters of rebel leader Sharad Yadav, today accused the JD(U) of turning their political battle into a "personal fight" by filing an SLP in the Supreme Court seeking Yadav's eviction from official residence and said he is being targeted for efforts to bring opposition parties together against the BJP.

The special leave petition (SLP) filed JD(U) leader R C P Singh has sought overturning of a Delhi High Court order, which without staying Yadav's disqualification from the Rajya Sabha, allowed him to stay in his official house and enjoy other perks.

"The JD(U) has clearly made it a personal matter by going out of the way to evict Yadav. The SLP is generally filed in matter of high importance. Is it a matter of national importance?" asked Javed Raza, a close aide of Yadav.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu had disqualified Yadav on a plea by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JD(U), which had cited his association with its rivals like the RJD and the Congress to revoke his membership.

Yadav had gone to Delhi High Court against the decision.

Raza said Yadav has been targeted because he did not "bow down" to the BJP after it won over Kumar.
